Parameter Variation 1. Variations The static offset, current and specified force can be loaded incrementally. They are selected by ticking off the checkboxes: Static offset Current Specified Force Per default current is activated in the first load step of the variation. Note that this only affect lines in the slender system. This can be deactivated using: Deactivate current The parameters are added incrementally by using the common parameters variation settings Num variations : Number of variations Max iteration : Maximum number of iterations Convergence Norm : Convergence Norm Displacement : Use the default Euclidean displacement norm only Both : Use both the default Euclidean displacement norm and the energy norm Accuracy for the displacement norm Energy accuracy for the energy norm 1.1. Offset variation Reference type: reference to moving point Super node : super node identifier Support vessel : Support vessel ID DX: Displacement increment, X-direction DY: Displacement increment, y-direction DZ: Displacement increment, z-direction Rotation code: Rotation code No rotation Rotation about x-axis: The given rotation is taken about X-axis Rotation about y-axis: The given rotation is taken about Y-axis Rotation about z-axis: The given rotation is taken about Z-axis Rotation increment 1.2. Current variation Velocity increment : Current velocity increment Direction increment : Current direction increment 1.3. Specified force variation Option to vary the loads specified in Load components Specified force variation : Force increment on specified forces 2. Load type activation Friction : Activate bottom friction forces Global spring : Activate global and geotechnical springs Material memory : Activate material memory formulation (Isotropic/kinematic hardening) 2.1. Boundary change activation The options are Type : Super node or node Boundary change option: Options are Free , Fixed or prescribed or slave Free: Select the node . All dofs are freed. Fixed or prescribed : Select the node. Specify the boundary conditions for all dofs. Optional: Attach a support vessel to the node Slave : Specify the node and select the master node.
