1. Keyboard commands

1.1. Show Key Assist

Ctrl+Shift+L - This command opens a list of all key commands that are available.

1.2. Add viewpoint

Ctrl+Alt+A - Use this command to add a viewpoint in the graphics view. Viewpoints are handy when you would like to repeatedly navigate between different parts of the scene.

1.3. Assign Body Geometry

Ctrl+Shift+G - Use this command to assign a HSF geometry file to a body in your task.

1.4. Backward History

Alt+Left - Using this command you can navigate to the views or editors you have been working in.

1.5. Close all editors

Ctrl+Shift+W - This command closes all open editors, which is very handy when you are going to work on another task in the workspace.

1.6. Close Editor

Ctrl+W - Closes the editor which has focus.

1.7. Content Assist

Ctrl+Space - This command can be used in several situations. For instance when you are going to select a value in a combo box (drop down list) and you are not sure what the name of the item is - you can type in one or more letters followed by the Ctrl+Space command. This will give you a shortened list of items matching the letters you typed.
When you are working with scriptable values the Ctrl+Space command is a must to get the overview of which objects are available for you and which features on an object you can manipulate.

1.8. Copy

Ctrl+C Copies the selected object(s) - as you would expect.

1.9. Cut

Ctrl+X - Copies the selected object(s) and deletes the original object(s).

1.10. Delete

Delete - Deletes the selected object(s). This command is not available on some objects which can not be deleted.

1.11. Duplicate View

Ctrl+Shift+D - Creates a duplicate of the editor in focus. The duplicate editor name is marked with <> to distinguish it from the original editor. You can make as many duplicates as you like and relocate them as you like to get a better overview.

1.12. Edit Comment

Ctrl+Alt+C - If you would like to create a comment on a specific value or a specific field you can use this command to open a dialog where you can enter the comment. The field will then be marked with a small blue triangle in the upper right corner. You can delete the comment by using the delete button in the edit comment dialog or by simply removing all text in the details field in the dialog.

1.13. Export

Ctrl+E - You can use this command to export tasks and other model objects. Different options will be available depending on the task or object.

1.14. Find Object

Ctrl+Shift+N - This command opens a dialog where you can search for a named object and doubel click that object to open it?s editor.

1.15. Find Object Of Type

Ctrl+Shift+T - This command opens a dialog where you can search for object types (body, bumper, buoy, etc..) - select an object type and make a further search for named objects of that type.

1.16. Fly To

Ctrl+Shift+F - Use this command to find the selected object in the graphical view. You can change how a fly to works by opening the preferences in the window menu and select the 3D graphics chapter. Here you can set whether the fly to should animate a flight to the object or not.

1.17. Forward History

Alt+Right - Using this command you can navigate to the views or editors you have been working in.

1.18. Import

Ctrl+I - Using this command you can import tasks or other objects into an existing task or by creating a new task.

1.19. Maximize Active View or Editor

Ctrl+M - Using this command you can maximize the view or editor in focus and using it once more the view or editor goes back to the normal size.

1.20. New

Ctrl+N - This command opens a dialog where you can create any object available to you. NB\! Some objects demand that other objects are present first. You will be informed about this when you try to create such an object in this situation.

1.21. Next View

Ctrl+F7 - This command is very useful when you want to jump to the view or editor you last visited.
Alternatively you can hit Ctrl+F7 and hold the ctrl key. This displays a dialog where all open views and editors are listed. You can now move to the view or editor you like by repeatedly hitting the F7 key and either hit the enter key or click the left mouse button to jump to that view or editor.

1.22. Open/Create Workspace

Ctrl+O - This command opens a dialog where you can create a new workspace or open an already existing workspace.

1.23. Paste

Ctrl+V - Pastes the copied object(s) - as you would expect.

1.24. Position selected Bodies

Ctrl+Shift+M - If you would like to change the position of multiple bodies - keeping their relative position - you can select the bodies involved in either the navigator or the graphical view and use this command. You will then be presented with a dialog where you decide on which body is to be the reference body for the change and whether the change involves both position and rotation changes.

1.25. Previous View

Ctrl+Shift+F7 - This command is a version of the next view command (Ctrl+F7). By holding the shift key you move up in the list when repeatedly hitting the F7 key instead of downwards when you are not holding the shift key.

1.26. Redo

Ctrl+Y - If you have undone an operation (Ctrl+Z) you can redo this operation by using this command.

1.27. Rename

F2 - When you select the object you want to rename and hit F2 you are presented with a dialog where you can change the name.

1.28. Rerun Previous Calculation

Ctrl+F10 - When you have run a calculation (static or dynamic) you can rerun it by hitting this command to speed up your workflow.

1.29. Save

Ctrl+S - When using this command you save all changes in your workspace.

1.30. Select Me

Ctrl+Shift+S - Selects and reveals the object in the navigator.

1.32. Set Rotation point

Ctrl+R - When in the graphical view you can use this command to set the rotation point wherever you like. Use the command and left click your mouse where you want the rotation point to be.

1.33. Set Script

Ctrl+2 - This command opens a dialog where you may set a scriptable value for the given attribute in the selected field. You can remove a script by clicking the Use value button in the dialog (which sets the current script value) or by undoing (Ctrl+Z) the setting to get back to the original value.

1.34. Show System Menu

Alt-MINUS - This command opens the default menu for the editor in focus. Here you can choose to detach, minimize, maximize or close the editor.

1.35. Import from clipboard

Ctrl+Shift+V The import from clipboard command enables you to copy data from an external source and paste it into a table, given that the cells in the table or grid you are pasting it in corresponds to the data you want to paste. If there are more items on the clipboard than there are columns in the receiving table or grid, the rest of the data from the clipboard are ignored.

1.36. Toggle script/value

Ctrl+Shift+2 - By using this command you can switch between showing scripts and the actual values of the scripts in all field, tables and grids.

1.37. Undo

Ctrl+Z - Using this command you can undo the last change of value you did. Using this command repeatedly takes you back the given number of steps in the change history. Of course you can use the Ctrl+Y to redo the value change again - once, or repeatedly until you are back to now in the change history.
