1. Amplitude 1.1. Purpose Find the maximum single or double amplitude in a signal. 1.2. Description The maximum single amplitude for a signal \(x=x(k)\) is defined as \[x_A^s = \max \left(x\left(k\right)-\bar{x}\right),\] where \(\bar{x}\) denotes the mean value of \(x\). 1.2.1. Double amplitude If the option Down crossing is used, the maximum double amplitude for a signal \(x=x(k)\) is defined as the largest difference between a local maximum and the preceding local minimum. If the option Up and down crossing is used, the maximum double amplitude for a signal \(x=x(k)\) is defined as the largest difference between a local maximum and the preceding local minimum or between a local minimum and the preceding local maximum. This option will always give a larger maximum double amplitude than the option above. 1.3. Input Any equidistant signal (see Signal Types ). 1.4. Output The computed single or double amplitude is output as a single value for each input signal.
