Coupled Axial-Torsion Cross Section The cross section is used to model axisymmetric parts of the slender system which have a coupled axial / torsion stiffness properties and / or bending / curvature hysteresis effects. The cross section is especially useful for modelling cables with armour layers. The hydrodynamic load models vailable for coupled axial-torsion cross sections are: Morison’s generalized Equation Morison partly submerged cross sections MacCamy Fuchs Potential flow Time domain VIV loads No hydrodynamic loads (None option) The load model can be set in the Hydrodynamic force coefficient tab in the cross sectional properties. For details of the load models please see Hydrodynamic load models. For details, see Coupled axial-torsion Cross Section - input reference.
