SIMA Coordinate System 1. Coordinate systems Compass system (metocean) Can be seen in 3D view as compass needle Global coordinate system Can be rotated with respect to compass definition If metocean data convention is used as input, the relative angle can be used to convert the the wave, wind and current direction to SIMO/Riflex convention Example: 0 degree in metocean, mean wave propagating from North to South Note this must be processed by the user and is not automatically done by SIMA Body coordinate system Can be rotated with respect to global system 2. Global coordinate system Can be rotated with respect to compass definition 3. Body coordinate system Can be rotated with respect to global system 4. Example 1: Relative compass angle = 45deg Rz, initial rotation abut z-axis = 0deg 5.
