General Cross Section

The cross section is used to model parts of the slender system with more general double symmetric geometry. The cross section is especially useful for modelling of wind turbine blads.

The cross section is similar to the Double SymmetricCross Section, but can also have

  • Mass center offset

  • Area center offset

  • Rotated principal axes

  • Shear center offset

  • Aerodynamic load center offset and rotation

The hydrodynamic load models

  • Morison’s generalized Equation

  • No hydrodynamic loads
